Silky Hayauchi 48cm Sickle is made with very strong metal to give this product added strength and rigidity.  This listing is for a replacement sickle ONLY for the Hayauchi 48cm Pole Saw Head.  This will not fit the Hayate pole saw, you will need to order the one specific to that pole saw.

A sickle is a fantastic tool to cut off small branches or undercut bark and palm fronds.

WHY USE THIS PRODUCT:

When you are cutting/pruning a large or long branch or frond the material can move during the cut.  The branch will often move in the direction of the cut.  This will cause the branch or frond to squeeze and hold onto the blade.  This will mean that you can no longer continue cutting and you will not be able to release the saw blade from the cut.

By undercutting the branch or frond with the sickle you are giving the material somewhere else to move. Therefore preventing the blade from being caught.  This will ensure a speedy cut and stress-free experience.

The other times you may find the Silky Hayauchi 48cm sickle useful is when you are pruning a branch with thick bark.  This type of branch often will break off before you have finished cutting and the tear will cause the bark to tear down the trunk of the tree.  This leaves an unsightly finish and is harder for the tree to recover.  It also leaves it open to infection as it is harder for it to heal the wound.  By using the sickle to cut that bark off before you start your cut, if and when the branch you are pruning does break off you will not tear the bark off the trunk of the tree. This will leave a stressful free beautiful cut.
